Collin Cowdery, 23, of Stamford was charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to insure his motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle Saturday, June 16.

Cowdery was stopped on Camp Avenue after Darien police spotted his vehicle, a 2003 Honda Accord, driving southbound on Hoyt Street and determined the registration was expired.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the report. Police searched the vehicle and found a bag on the front passenger seat containing a cup with a marijuana grinder and approximately one gram of marijuana. Also in the bag, police found a clear plastic bag with about two grams of marijuana and a battery charger fit for a battery charging a marijuana vaporizer in the center console of the vehicle. Police also found a bag containing a bong with marijuana residue on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Cowdery was issued a misdemeanor summons and will appear in court June 27.
