Cyrus Clark, 45, of 880 Post Road, Darien, was arrested Aug. 11 on a charge of two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Police said officers were dispatched to the parking lot of 11 Old Kings Highway North on a report of two small children wandering alone. When police arrived at 4:35 p.m., they found the children, 5-year-old twins, one of whom was not wearing clothes, according to the report.
Officers canvassed the area looking for parents who were looking for their children and found the twins' mother, who was searching for them, said police. The woman told police she'd left the kids in the care of her husband while she went to get food, according to the report.
When police went to Clark's residence, he told police he'd fallen asleep and the kids had gotten out, said police. Officers reported that his breath smelled of alcohol.
He posted $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 21.
