For the second time in three days, the ticket-machines at all Metro-North Railroad stations has crashed.

The machines, which malfunctioned most of Friday and early Saturday, are again rejecting credit- and debit-card purchases of tickets Sunday.

Railroad officials reported about 12:30 p.m. Sunday that tickets will have to be purchased with cash at local stations or onboard trains.

The recurrence of the malfunction is being blamed on the railroad's "communications provider."
