Jacqueline Calarbo, 39, of 6 Tulip Tree Lane, Darien, was arrested Aug. 28 on three counts of risk of injury to a minor after her 7-year-old son called police looking for her, according to the incident report.
At 9:46 p.m., police received a call from a male child looking for his mother. When the police arrived at the home, they saw a child peering out the window next to the front door, according to the report. Officers went around the home and found the rear sliding door was unlocked, said police.
Two more children, ages 5 and 3, were also in the home, according to the report.
The officers searched the area and found their mother at her friend's home on Deer Field Road, which backs up to Calarbo's property, according to the report.
She told police she went to her friend's home to "pick something up," according to the report, and claims that she told her 7-year-old son where she was going and the other children were asleep when she left.
Calarbo told police she drank "some wine" at her friend's house but did not appear to be intoxicated, according to the report.
The father, said police, is currently in Baltimore, Md.
She was released on a written promise to appear in court Sept. 9.
