Nancy Ferns Simpson

Nancy Ferns Simpson died at home, Monday, Sept. 19, following a long illness. She was 83.
Mrs. Simpson was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Bronxville, N.Y., to Robert Morrison Ferns and Grace Talcott Ferns. She attended Abbot Academy, Knox School and Barmor School in New York City. She was married to her husband, Harold B. Simpson Jr., in 1949, and moved to Darien in 1955, where she devoted her life to her growing family's activities. As her children grew up, she served for many years as a teacher's aide at Hindley School. She was a member of the DCA, and also served in a voluntary capacity with the Darien Chapter of the American Red Cross.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her five children: Deborah Folsom, of Bronxville, N.Y.; William Simpson, of Darien; David Simpson, of Norwalk; Jeffrey Simpson, of Tampa; and Douglas Simpson, of New Canaan, as well as 10 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Noroton Presbyterian Chapel, 2011 Post Road, Darien on Monday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. A private family interment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.

Maymarie Pertel Conte died Sept. 4. She was 76.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 132 Glenbrook Road, Stamford.
