In addition to her election to the board, Franco has been a corporator at First County Bank since June 2007. Franco, a New Canaan resident, has been with Norwalk Hospital since 2006 and leads the hospital's fundraising efforts as well as government relations and community strategy. Prior to her role at Norwalk Hospital, she was with General Electric for almost 10 years, serving finally as vice president of corporate citizenship for GE Consumer Finance. Prior to joining GE, Franco held leadership positions with the University of Connecticut, where she played a key role in the creation of the Stamford campus, and with the National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation and the Vermont Law School.
She is a member of the board of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Leadership Council of the Regional Alliance to Prevent and End Homelessness. She is also a trustee of her alma mater, Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. Franco was a member of former Gov. M. Jodi Rell's Early Childhood Research and Policy Council and has been a board member of the United Way of Norwalk and Wilton and Stamford.
First County Bank, headquartered in Stamford, has 15 branches, including one in Darien.
