DARIEN — Police charged a 33-year-old Norwalk man with drunk driving after they found him allegedly displaying signs of intoxication while parked on Garden City Road.
On Aug. 19 around 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of an erratic driver in the area of Post and Garden City roads. Officers found Segundo Compoverde-Contreras, of Commerce Street, parked on the side of Garden City Road. When officers spoke with Compoverde-Contreras, they smelled alcohol on his breath and noticed his eyes were watery.
Compoverde-Contreras was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive right. He refused a breath test and was released after posting a $250 cash bond. He was given an Aug. 20 court date.
