Norwalk man charged with larceny

Police served Jose Maldonado, 44, of Norwalk, with a warrant on April 25. The arrest stemmed from a complaint received from Rings End Lumber, 181 West Ave., on Dec. 7. According to police, Maldonado was employed by Ring's End at the time of the complaint. Police said he allowed three friends to walk out of the store with nine gallons of paint valued at $340. When confronted by management, Maldonado admitted to the theft.
Police charged him with sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court May 7.
