Police charged a Norwalk woman with sixth-degree larceny on Oct. 8

Police said at 8:30 p.m., a Stop & Shop employee reported a larceny of grocery items totaling $452.01. A manager observed Adrienne Aguilar, 21, of 261 Ely Ave. in Norwalk, who was with her 3-year-old daughter, checking out a large amount of groceries at one time in the self-scan aisles in a very brief amount of time, police said.

Police said the manager of the store, located in Goodwives Shopping Center, reviewed the transaction and noted that only $5.78 worth of items had been scanned when in fact all of the items totaled $457.79. Police said the manager confronted Aguilar outside and escorted her back inside where the police were called.

Aguilar was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 18.
