Lindsey Jones

Lindsey Jones, of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, formerly of Darien, died April 21. She was 32.

The daughter of Frank and Bonnie Jones of Darien, Lindsey was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on Jan. 16, 1978.

Lindsey attended the Darien Public Schools ,where she was active in sports and music. She enjoyed music so much and was a member of the marching band, concert band and jazz band in high school. She was captain of the field hockey team her freshman year, was a cheerleader her sophomore year and was the coxswain of the crew team her junior and senior years at Darien High School. She was recruited by University of Michigan to be a member of the woman's crew team, where she won many awards for UM her freshman year. Lindsey attended UM for three years and finished her college degree in communications at Hunter College in New York City. During college, Lindsey was an intern at Sony Music, and worked in the music industry after graduating. In addition to her parents, survivors include her brother Jeff and his wife, Amy, who live in New Canaan.

Calling hours were Sunday, April 25, at the Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien. A funeral mass was held Monday, April 26, at St. Thomas Moore R.C. Church.

Frances Alberta McCarthy

Frances Alberta McCarthy, a mother and grandmother, died Sunday, April 18, in Wilton. She was 88.

Born May 14, 1921, in Yonkers, N.Y., she was the daughter of Francis and Elizabeth Wilmot.

Mrs. McCarthy devoted her entire life to her family and extended family members.

Survivors include three children, Gail Fennell of Fairfield, Dennis McCarthy of Long Boat Key, Fla., and Diane Rutledge of Stamford; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Jennifer, Taryn, Kerry, Riley, Courtney and Megan; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Vincent Timothy McCarthy.

Mrs. McCarthy suffered from Alzheimer's disease for many years. A private family service is planned.
