Honey sommelier and Author Marina Marchese of Red Bee Honey will present an exploration of artisanal single-origin honeys paired with extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars tonight, Monday, Feb. 13, at Olivette in Darien from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Participants will learn how to marry the unique flavors of single-origin honeys with extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars to create harmonious blends that can be used to flavor decadent desserts or to add depth to simple, healthful meals. Combinations such as Apple Blossom Honey and Cranberry/Pear White Balsamic Vinegar will complement tasting plates of breads, cheese and Valentine's Day treats. The cost of this event is $15 per person and seating is limited.

This unique pre-Valentine's Day pairing and tasting event will be co-hosted by Olivette co-owner and General Manager Alina Lawrence and Marina Marchese of Red Bee Honey. Olivette is Connecticut's newest artisanal food shop and tasting room, offering over 20 varieties of first cold press unfiltered extra virgin olive oil and over 20 varieties of balsamic vinegar from Modena, Italy produced through the traditional Solera method.
