On Tuesday, May 1, Christopher Maduri, 33, of Fairfield, turned himself in on a warrant for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive right.
The arrest stems from a single motor vehicle accident that took place March 25 around 2:25 a.m. on Mansfield Avenue near Knollwood Lane. According to police, Maduri was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion northbound on Mansfield Avenue when the vehicle crossed over the center line and into the southbound lane, striking a utility pole.
Maduri sustained minor injuries and was transported to Stamford Hospital by Post 53 EMS. Before he was taken to the hospital, the officer detected the odor of alcohol and Maduri admitted to having consumed some beer.
A search warrant for medical records was obtained; the results said Maduri's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
He was released on a written promise to appear in court May 11.
