DARIEN — For the 51st year in a row, this Darien tradition not only raised money for Tokeneke Elementary School, it brought big smiles to thousands of visitors from around the region.

The annual Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival took place Saturday under a sunny, blue sky, with rides, games, food and tons of families out for the event.

“The whole town comes together and participates,” said Katie Pettit of Darien, one of the many parent volunteers who make it happen. “And it’s obviously a gorgeous day.”
