Anne Curtis, 32, of 32 Hoyt St., was arrested Aug. 8 and charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor in connection with drug-laced hypodermic needles found at Holmes Elementary School in April and May, police said.

Curtis turned herself in after learning that Darien police had a warrant for her arrest, police said. Six needles that tested positive for cocaine were found on the school grounds in April and May and three were turned over to the State of Connecticut Forensic Lab for DNA analysis, police said.

All three syringes contained Curtis' DNA, according to police.

Darien police recovered a used syringe and other items associated with the use of narcotics in Curtis' home several days prior to her May 7 arrest, according to the report.

She has been arrested on charges of larceny multiple times, according to the state Department of Justice website.

Curtis lives within 400 feet of Holmes Elementary School.

Bridgeport attorney Richard Stannard, who is representing Curtis, said he did not want to comment on the specifics her case because he had not yet seen the police reports.

"We are hoping to resolve the case in a fair and decent manner," he said.

Curtis was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond for the risk of injury to a minor charges and was arraigned in court today.
