Tools stolen from van
Darien Police are investigating the theft of $800 in tools from a work van parked in the driveway of a Littlebrook Road home.
The owner of 2004 GMC 2500 Series van said he parked it at 5 p.m. July 3 and found the handle to the door damaged at 4:30 p.m. July 4, according to a police report.
The thief stole a Makita Hand Blower valued at $200, and a Makita screw gun and impact driver set valued at $600, according to the report.
Breach of peace
Edith Clarke, 51, of Mansfield Avenue, was charged with breach of peace.
Police were called to Darien Social, 10 Center St., on a report that Clarke argued with a bartender who asked her to leave and declined to serve her more drinks because he thought she was intoxicated, according to a police report. The bartender told police Clarke cursed at him and reached over the bar and grabbed his shirt, according to the report.
Clarke told police she believed she was cut off because she was accompanied by four black men, according to the report.
She was released on a promise to appear and is to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford July 22.
Police are investigating the theft of a wallet containing credit and debit cards and an iPhone 5 from an unlocked sports utility vehicle at the Goodwives Shopping Center, according to a police report.
The owner of the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee reported on the morning of July 10 that the theft occurred the night before around 6:30 p.m., according to the report.
The owner said he tried to lock the door but it wasn’t working, according to the report.
