DARIEN — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who struck a Darien High School student with her car.
On May 5 about 2:25 p.m, a 17-year-old girl was crossing High School Lane between stopped and slow moving cars. A car passed the line of traffic, crossing over into the incoming lane of traffic and striking the girl, which knocked her to the ground. The driver of the car stopped and asked the girl if she was OK. The girl said she thought she was alright and the driver got back into the car and drove toward the high school.
The girl received minor injuries from the incident. When she got home, she reported the incident to the Darien police. The car in question was a brown minivan driven by a white woman with blonde hair who seemed to be in her 40s, police said.
In the passenger seat was a young girl who looked to be in middle school.
Anyone with information is requested to contact the Darien Police Department at 203-662-5300.
