A car parked in the rear parking lot of Bella Pietra, 895 Post Road, was broken into on Friday, May 21, according to police. The vehicle's owner parked his car at 12:20 p.m. on Friday; when he returned about an hour later, he found his iPod, valued at $150, missing. The car had been left unlocked; the MP3 player had been concealed under a windbreaker, but the wires were left exposed, police said.

Ronnie Manning, 29, of Stamford, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless operation and disobeying the signal of an officer on a warrant on Wednesday, May 26. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, June 3.
The warrant stemmed from a Feb. 18 incident, during which an officer parked in the driveway at St. John's Church, 1986 Post Road, witnessed Manning drive 2001 Ford Taurus westbound on Post Road at a high rate of speed at 1:52 a.m., police said. The officer pulled out of the parking lot and traveled eastbound on Post Road toward Manning with lights and sirens, at which point Manning stopped briefly at the intersection of Rings End Road and Post Road, according to police.
After the brief stop, Manning "suddenly" turned left continued down Rings End Road, before stopping at the intersection of Rings End and Harbor Roads, police said. The officer exited his vehicle and approached the Taurus, which took off once again, heading southbound on Rings End Road, police said.
The vehicle stopped once more on the same road, at which point the officer told Manning to shut off the car, police said. When the officer approached the vehicle, he detected the odor of alcohol on Manning, police said. Manning's father was also in the car, and told police that his son should not be driving, and that he may have just smoked marijuana laced with either PCP or Ecstasy, police said. Manning was incoherent and could not speak or stand on his own, according to the report.
The officer called an ambulance, and Manning was transported to Stamford Hospital, police said. The department filed a search warrant for medical records, which revealed that Manning had PCP and alcohol in his system at the time of the incident, police said.

Megan Trygg, 37, of Miller Road, Darien, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to drive right at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26. An officer observed Trygg, stopped at a traffic light at the corner of Leroy and West avenuesin her 2009 Honda Civic; the light was green, police said. After Trygg began driving again, the officer witnessed her cross the double-yellow line three times, police said. The officer stopped Trygg and approached the vehicle. According to the police report, Trygg had glassy, bloodshot eyes. She failed her field sobriety test, posted a $240 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 7.

Anne Bavier, 52, of Oak Crest, Darien, was charged with serving alcohol to minors at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. The Darien Police received a call from a member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, alerting the department to an anonymous call she received about an under-age drinking party on Oak Crest, police said. Officers responded to the address and found several youths walking around in the front yard with beer cans, police said. There were also numerous beer cans and cups on the ground, according to police. When officers arrived, the kids scattered, according to the report.
Bavier was sitting on a chair in the front yard, police said.
When officers went to the back of the house, they found about 10 youths behind the house, as well as several more beer cans and cups, police said. There was a "beer pong" table set up on the back porch, with a large half-empty keg next to it, according to the police report. The keg's registration label had Bavier's signature on it, indicating that she had purchased it, according to police.
Bavier told the police she had decided to throw the party for her 18-year-old daughter in an effort to do something nice for her, according to the report. Each of the other children identified were from out of state, and attend Christian Academy High School in Massachusetts with Bavier's daughter, police said. Bavier also told police that she had taken all the children's keys, according to the report.
Police seized the keg and contacted the children's parents. Bavier was released on a promise to appear in court on Tuesday, June 8.

Kim Barker, 57, of New Canaan and Karen Byrne, 57, of Hecker Avenue, Darien, were arrested following a domestic violence incident at Byrne's home at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. Barker was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct and Byrne was charged with disorderly conduct. They were each released on a promise to appear in court on Friday, May 28.

Natalie Charles, 23, of Stamford, was charged with fourth-degree larceny on a warrant on Thursday, May 27. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Monday, June 7.
The warrant stems from an April 28 complaint made to the police by an investigator for TD Bank North, located at 55 Post Road. According to police, the investigator reported that Charles was working as a teller at the bank on March 25, when $1,000 went missing from a deposit made by a McDonald's restaurant. Charles made deposits into her personal account totaling $900, police said. She admitted to the investigator that she took the money and said she didn't know why, police said. She agreed to full restitution, but the bank decided to press charges, police said. Charles was terminated from her position at the bank.

Anthony James, 58, of Stamford, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 8:41 a.m. on Friday, May 28. Officers were conducting a seatbelt checkpoint on Heights Road when an officer noticed a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer with a flat front-right tire parking near Leary's Liquor Cabinet, 178 Heights Road, police said. An officer approached the vehicle, and James told him that he knew he hit a curb and was pulling over to inspect the tire, according to police.
The officer noticed food on James's chin and clothing, police said. "His motor skills were not that good," said Police Capt. Fred Komm. James was unsteady on his feet, police said.
James told the officer that he had been drinking the previous evening, police said. He failed his field sobriety test and was arrested. He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, June 11.

A Garmin Nuvi GPS, valued at $300, was reported stolen from a 2004 Honda Accord parked at the Noroton Heights westbound train stations parking lot on Saturday, May 29. The vehicle's owner left the car locked at 10:45 a.m.; when he returned at 6:45 p.m., he found the front left window smashed, and the GPS missing, police said. The GPS unit had been left in plain sight, according to police.

A 36-inch skateboard, valued at $100, was reported stolen from the Tokeneke Beach Club bike rack on Sunday, May 30. The skateboard's owner, a 13-year-old boy, left the skateboard near the rack at 4:15 p.m.; when he returned at 5:15 p.m., the board was missing.
