Darien police responded on Nov. 19 to the reported larceny of a 2004 Yamaha Zuma scooter, valued at $1,500, from the Darien train station parking lot.

Police said the owner called to report the theft, indicating that he had parked the scooter, which had been left unsecured, in the lot during the morning hours.

At approximately 4 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious person attempting to start a dirt bike at Tilley Park. Police said the subject was described as male with a thin build and wearing a baseball cap covered by a wool hat and a black jacket. Upon police arrival, the subject could not be located.

The scooter was recovered and had damage to the area of the ignition switch, according to police.
