Protective order violation charge

A 26-year-old Milford woman was charged with criminal violation of a protective order after police found her with her former husband.

According to the report, at about 10 a.m. Aug. 3, an officer received an alert on a 2006 Honda CRV from the vehicle's license plate reader. The alert indicated that the vehicle was stolen. The officer stopped the vehicle on Post Road and found Carla Soto in the passenger side of the vehicle which was operated by her former husband. Police learned that the car was reported stolen in Bridgeport, but it was recovered and returned without the stolen alert being canceled. It was also determined that Soto had a protective order issued against her where she was to have no contact with her former husband.

Soto posted a $500 bond and appeared in court Aug. 6.
