It's time for the great Pumpkin Carnival at Tokeneke School on Saturday.

The annual event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the school grounds, 7 Old Farm Road.

The athletic field at the school will be transformed into a place for seasonal games and activities. Face painting, apple toss, sand art, sack races and more are planned.

There will also be a haunted house to explore. Other features this year include spin and pendulum amusement rides, trains and swings and even a carousel.

Burgers, Shakes & Fries, Heights Pizza and the Upper Crust Bakery and Cafe will be on hand this year with an array of food options.

Rain date for the event is Sunday, Oct. 19.

Between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Old Farm Road at Tokeneke Road will be closed to all incoming traffic, according to a traffic advisory issued by police. It will be open for outgoing traffic only. Tokeneke-area residents and visitors are advised to enter the Tokeneke area through the alternate entrances of Arrowhead Way, Driftway Lane or Five Mile River Road.

Off-street parking is available for those attending the fair at Colangelo Group, 120 Tokeneke Road, or Zoto's International, 100 Tokeneke Road, police said. Some on-street parking will also be permitted on Tokeneke Road as posted. As in the past, there is no parking allowed on Old Farm Road. Additionally, there is no parking at any time on any private road of the Tokeneke Association. The Tokeneke Park police will be patrolling the private roads of the association to enforce that rule.

Police will have officers assigned to the event to assist both motorists and pedestrians.
