The Darien Republican Town Committee is accepting applications to fill vacancies.

The RTC is planning to interview candidates at its Wednesday, Sept. 10, meeting. Applicants must be registered Republicans in Darien. Members serve two-year terms. The current term ends in March 2016.

The RTC, which meets monthly, recruits and recommends Republicans for elective and appointive offices on town boards and commissions, raises funds for campaigns and provides support for both the Darien and state Republican parties.

Additionally, the RTC is seeking residents to serve on the town's Environmental Protection Commission.

The EPC consists of seven members who are responsible for reviewing any activity in or abutting wetlands or watercourses.
