Darien kids grabbed their wide-brimmed hats, bandanas and cowboy boots and had plenty of adventure at the annual Royle Round Up Sunday, June 3.

A Western-themed fair and fundraiser, Royle Round Up boasted tons of old-fashioned games, like fish bowl toss, bull's eye, ring a lolli, and lasso a horse. Students got a chance to dunk Royle parents in the dunk tank, win cakes in the cake walk and take real pony rides around Royle playground.

When they rustled up an appetite, they had a western chuck wagon lunch, featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and watermelon.

New this year, the fair also featured the Round Up raffle to ride to school on a fire truck, compliments of the Noroton Volunteer Fire Department. The winner and his or her friends will get to ride to school one day on a fire truck.

The funds raised will support various programs and services at the school.
