Royle hosts Jump Rope for Heart

  • Royle Elementary School in Darien hosted its sixth annual Jump Rope for Heart during physical education classes in the last week of February. Students obtained sponsors from family, friends and neighbors. Each class was designed with jumping activities, such as a mini trampoline, dancing, jump roping and basketball jump shots. The school's Kids Care club pledged a $1 for every minute jumped up to $100. The kids more than met the goal. A school record was set when Courtney Ball jumped 165 times on the "tandem" rope.
