Author and Darien native Scarlett Lewis will appear at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, to discuss her book "Nurturing, Healing, Love."

The book chronicles her life in the months after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown, during which her 6-year-old son, Jesse, was killed. She will share her story about love and survival, how to face the impossible, find courage and choose love instead of anger, fear or hatred.

Barrett Bookstore will offer "Nurturing, Healing, Love" for sale at the event. Proceeds of the sales will benefit the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation, the charity Lewis created in her son's honor.

Tickets are $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. For tickets or information, visit dariendca.org or call 203-655-9050.
