Scouts' annual tag sale seeks donations

Preparation is underway for the 42nd annual Darien Boy Scouts Tag Sale scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Andrew Shaw Memorial Scout Cabin, 140 West Ave.
The sale provides funds to operate the cabin and subsidize programs.
Donations are being accepted. Needed are antiques, collectibles, jewelry, instruments, furniture, baby and children's furniture, lawn furniture, lawn mowers, lawn and garden tools, hand tools, woodworking tools, construction tools, snow blowers, electronics, stereo equipment, turntables, speakers, computers (Pentium IIIs and newer), flat screen TVs, cellphones, CDs, DVDs, records, sporting goods, housewares, lamps and linens, rugs, dishes and decorative items, paintings, pictures, books, games and toys, bicycles and holiday items.
Unsafe and or unsalable items, including clothing, magazines, mattresses, cribs, car seats, sofa beds, venetian blinds, drapery rods, steel or particle board furniture, armoires, large console TVs, floor model stereo equipment, typewriters, basketball nets, skis, hazardous materials, propane tanks, or building materials will not be accepted.
For items too large to fit in a car, pickups will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 12 and 26. To schedule a pickup, visit darienscouts.org or call 203-656-1830, ext. 3.
Donations can be dropped off at the cabin from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16 to 19 and 23 to 26 and from 6 to 8 p.m. April 17, 18, 24 and 25.
