Former Los Angeles deputy district attorney-turned-novelist Marcia Clark, who garnered international attention as the lead prosecutor in football legend O.J. Simpson's 1995 murder trial, will celebrate the release of her latest book, "Killer Ambition" on Tuesday, June 18, in Darien.
Clark, who began practicing law as a criminal defense attorney, joined the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor in 1981 and eventually spent 10 years in its Special Trials Unit before resigning in 1997. In addition to the infamous 1995 "Trial of the Century," in which Simpson was charged with killing his former wife and a friend of hers and was found not guilty, Clark is known for successfully prosecuting the 1991 case against Robert Bardo, an obsessed fan who stalked and killed actress Rebecca Schaeffer. Clark also has served as a legal analyst and television commentator for NBC, CNBC and MSNBC and has toured the United States and Canada giving lectures on a variety of issues, including domestic violence, public service careers, and the latest high-profile legal cases.
