Skateboarder hit by car still in critical care

A skateboarder who was hit by a vehicle Friday evening is still in the critical care unit at Stamford Hospital, police said.

Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron said the youth's parents are having him transferred to a hospital in New York City that deals specifically with the injuries he sustained.

The investigation is still in the initial stages and it is unclear whether any charges will be filed, Marron said.
