As part of the Depot's spring house tour, five homeowners opened their doors and allowed guests to take a peek inside beautiful homes. One homeowners, who lives on Allwood Road with her family, allowed the Darien News to see what was beyond the trimmed front lawns and large wooden front door.

The tour pamphlet described the home as such:

"The first thing that beckons to you is the front porch: a seasonal refuge from the heat of the summer recalling the southern roots of the woman of the house. Gas lanterns to the left and right of the floor suggest the romance of a porch in days past.

"The house is clearly an expression of the owners' personality interpreted by the architect, crafted by the builder and completed by the interior designer and landscape architect."
