The Darien Nature Center is gearing up for spring with an array of after school programs for Pre-K through fifth grade children. All spring programs are April 23 to June 8 and run from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.

A favorite for children in first through fifth grades is the Animal Caretakers Club. Children learn to care for, fee, exercise and clean animal habitats. At the end of the session, children will make a presentation to their families featuring their favorite animal. Animal Caretakers will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

For Pre-K and kindergarten students, Trail Trekkers is a great way to expel pent-up after school energy. Hiking, pond play and adventures with animals are all part of the fun. This class is offered on Fridays.
