Frank Angelo, 54, of 46 Glendale Circle, Stamford, was charged with fifth-degree larceny after receiving a warrant for his arrest Friday, July 27.

The warrant stems from a bad check Angelo gave in the amount of $540 as payment for oil deliveries from Sound Energy, police said.

When the check was written in March, there were insufficient funds in Angelo's account, according to the report, which said he was given several opportunities to pay Sound Energy, but did not.

Darien police said they obtained Angelo from Bridgeport Superior Court, where he was appearing on an unrelated matter. Angelo was released on a written promise to appear in court Aug. 6.
