Stamford man charged with speeding; DWI

Shane Michael Kovach, 21, of Stamford was charged with speeding and operating under the influence after an officer observed him traveling 60 mph on Hoyt Street Feb. 8 at 3 a.m..

The officer asked Kovach for his license and registration and observed Kovach fumble through papers, police said.

Kovach failed his field sobriety test. He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 20.
