DARIEN — Police are investigating a stolen car, as well as two additional car break-ins.
On Aug. 22 around 12:30 a.m., police recovered a gray 2005 Audi taken from Stamford after the owner saw two people driving the stolen car on Allen O’Neill Drive. Police stopped the stolen car and questioned the driver who said they bought the car for cash on Aug. 18 from a Stamford man who posted an ad on Craigslist. The driver was able to provide evidence of the transaction.
Police said they will continue to investigate this incident.
On Aug, 23, police received a report that an unlocked car had been entered on Ridge Acres Road. Nothing was taken, but police searched the neighborhood without finding further evidence. Two other cars left locked in the same driveway were not entered.
On Aug. 26, another unlocked car was entered on Noroton Avenue. The complainant said he found clothes missing from a suitcase he left in the car overnight on Aug. 21.
Police are continuing to investigate these incidents.
