Teen charged with assault

A 16-year-old male was charged with second-degree assault Sunday, July 1, after police responded to a domestic incident on West Avenue.

According to the report, the male and his mother were arguing over the use of the family car when the son became physical.

The woman was transported to Stamford Hospital by Post 53 for bruising and a laceration on her leg.

The male was released on a promise to appear and is in the custody of his father. He is scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Stamford July 10.
