An 18-year-old Darien male is facing charges after police received complaints of youths running in front of vehicles Saturday, July 7.
Jared Kindy, 18, of 9 Old Oak Road, Darien, was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.
According to the report, police responded to the area of Sylvan and Birch roads at approximately 12:18 a.m. for a report of youths running in the roadway and jumping in front of vehicles. Police then received a second report stating that the youths were jumping on vehicles as they drove by and yelling obscenities at the occupants.
While checking the area, officers said they encountered youths who proceeded to run when they saw the police. One of the youths, later determined to be Kindy, was ordered to halt after the officer shined his spotlight on him. Police said he refused to comply and was later tracked down and taken into custody.
Police said they detected an odor of alcohol on him, and he had admitted to having been at a party, but would not disclose the location. He was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 17.
