Three Post Road properties under renovation have been hit by thieves.

The owner, who is in the process of renovating the former Friendly's building at 275 Post Road and Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza at 319 Post Road, was away on vacation and didn't file the reports until his return Jan. 5, police said.

A metal commercial grease container valued at $100 was the first theft reported at 319 Post Road. It was taken off a landscape trailer, where it was left, by two males in an older model green pickup truck Dec. 29, according to the report. The following evening, the landscape trailer, valued at $2,500, was also taken.

On Jan. 5, a 200-gallon electric hot water heater valued at $800 was taken from outside the building at 275 Post Road.

The thefts are being investigated.
