The YWCA Darien/Norwalk Newcomers Club will be hosting several events for new area residents.

Among them are the Newcomers Fall Party for member couples on Saturday, Sept. 29, a Newcomers Coffee for members on Friday, Sept. 14, and a Newcomers Wine & Cheese Ladies' Night for new area residents on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

YWCA Newcomers membership is required, with the exception of the Newcomers Wine & Cheese Ladies' Night.

The YWCA Newcomers Club Kickoff Party will take place at the Darien Historical Society for the second year at 6:30 p.m. Newcomers President Carlyle Upson said, "Last fall's party was attended by over 100 new area residents, who enjoyed cocktails, food and mingling in the lovely barn of the historical society. This year, we're featuring a tasting of local Connecticut wines to accompany the exhibition of local artists at the historical society, and anticipate even more attendees."

The sponsor for the event is William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage and Insurance. Food will be provided by Palmer's Catering, cocktails will be served and there will be live music. The cost is $55 and tickets can be purchased by members at ywcadariennorwalk.org/newcomers-events.

The Newcomers Wine & Cheese Ladies Night will take place at a member's home at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required; visit newcomers@ywcadariennorwalk.org.

The Newcomers Coffee will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the YWCA Music Studio. Reservations are required and can be done via newcomers@ywcadariennorwalk.org.

In addition to these events, there are other activties, including informal playgroups, a monthly book club, ladies' nights, volunteerism and Gourmet and Winetasters groups.
