Toys and Tiny Instruments will play a free concert at Darien Library, 1441 Post Road, at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

The band formed in late 2009 as a side project of the musical duo My Friend Other. Wanting to form a rhythmically complex and dense sound while maintaining quirky and whimsical tendencies, seven friends joined together in a cramped fourth-story Brooklyn living room.

Since its formation, the band has been active on the New York City music scene, including at the South Street Seaport via the Soundbites Series.

Self-produced, the Toys' first album "Thunder Clap Machine" was released March 1, 2013.

Refreshments will be served.
