NEW CANAAN — Emergency crews have closed an Old Stamford Road after a truck struck a train bridge just before 1 p.m. Monday.

Old Stamford Road between Lapham Road and Weed Street was to be closed for five hours after the tractor trailer struck the MTA bridge.

The accident has no impact on Metro-North train service and trains will be running normally, according to a Metro Transit Authority spokesperson.

Detours are in place, according to police. Motorist are advised to avoid this area.
