A 36-year-old Stamford woman is facing charges after police said she assaulted a 16-year-old at the Darien Playhouse on Jan. 27.
Police arrested Jessenia Maharaj of 52 Randall Ave. on charges of third-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, third-degree conspiracy to assault and breach of peace on Thursday, Feb. 28.
According to the report, Maharaj turned herself in to police after learning of a warrant issued for her arrest.
The arrest stems from an incident that took place at the Darien Playhouse at approximately 5:11 p.m.
A 16-year-old female employee, who was working at the concession stand, was attacked by a group of women, two of whom she knew.
The victim told police she had an ongoing dispute with one of the females, also 16.
As a result of the attack, the victim sustained scrapes and small cuts and swelling to the facial area.
She was transported to Stamford Hospital by Post 53 EMS.
The victim identified Maharaj and a 16-year-old female as the principle attackers.
The female juvenile was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree conspiracy to assault and breach of peace. She appeared in juvenile court Feb. 19.
Maharaj was released on promise to appear in court March 11.
