Two nabbed for burglary attempt at occupied house

Two people have been apprehended for a burglary on Weeds Landing while the homeowner was in the house.
On Tuesday, April 23, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Darien police officers responded to the residence on a report of a burglary in progress. The homeowner told police that a male had forcefully entered his home, according to the report. He also told police that when he approached the intruder, the suspect left the house and fled on foot toward the Post Road.
Darien police officers obtained a vehicle description, which was issued to surrounding towns. The vehicle was observed in Stamford, according to police, and was stopped by the Stamford police officers. An investigation by Darien police officers led to the arrest of two individuals.
Clarence Patterson, 53, of 118 Hawley Ave., Bridgeport, and Amber Jenkins, 30, of 196 Franklin St., Stamford, were each arrested on charges of burglary in the second degree, conspiracy to burglary in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.
Patterson was held in lieu of $25,000 bond and Jenkins was released on a promise to appear. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 6.
