A customer's wallet was reported stolen at Stop & Shop on Oct. 25 after a New Canaan woman paid for her items and left the wallet on the checkout counter, police said. The shopper left the supermarket around 3:30 p.m. and noticed her purse felt lighter than normal and then she realized she forgot her wallet, police said.

The wallet contained $22 in cash, credit and debit cards and the wallet itself was worth about $70, police said.
