An unlocked 2010 Lexus at a Brown Street home was broken into during the overnight hours of Sept. 3.
When the owner was leaving for work in the morning, Darien police said, he noticed the driver's side door was ajar. He told police that his wallet, which contained $40 in cash and some credit cards, had been taken, according to the report. The owner's wife said she believed the car was locked, police said, but the owner thought otherwise.
One of the credit cards was used at a gas station in Stamford, said police.
The case is under investigation.
