Woman charged after allegedly yelling profanities at Darien officers

A New Canaan woman who called Darien Police requesting a ride home was charged with breach of peace after allegedly yelling profanities in a restaurant.
According to police, Jane Curtis Delano, 53, was intoxicated at Wild Ginger, 971 Post Road, on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m., when she repeatedly called the department asking for a ride.
Officers went to the restaurant as a precaution, and when they arrived, police said Delano began yelling profanities at them and making the other patrons uncomfortable.
According to the report, Delano continued yelling in the restaurant and using profanity because she was upset the police wouldn't give her a ride home.
The officers called a her taxi, but while waiting with them outside, she began yelling and swearing again before police warned her that they would arrest her if she didn't stop, police said.
She posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 14.
