Anne Curtis, 32, of 32 Hoyt St., Darien, was arrested Tuesday night on charges of possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police are investigating whether syringes found on the grounds of Holmes Elementary School belong to Curtis, according to police.
Police said over the "past several days," seven used syringes were found on the Holmes property, which is less than 400 feet of Curtis' home.
Darien police recovered a used syringe and other items associated with the use of narcotics in Curtis' home several days prior, according to the report.
Curtis was held in lieu of $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 16.
She has been arrested multiple times for larceny, according to the state Department of Justice website.
As a precaution, the Darien Police Department recommends not touching discarded hypodermic needles that are found in public areas.
Contact the police at 203-662-5300 and responding officers will pick them up and properly dispose of them. While found syringes may have been used for prescribed medicines, they could also have been used to inject illegal drugs.
