Rebecca Dresel, 31, of 2233 South Britain Road, Southbury, was arrested on Monday, March 4, on charges of driving while intoxicated, misuse of marker plates, no insurance and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

At 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, an officer on patrol saw a BMW traveling fast eastbound on the Post Road, said police. The BMW struck a telephone pole located in the area of the Post Road and Interstate-95 Exit 13, according to the report. Dresel sustained minor injuries and was transported to Norwalk Hospital.

A search warrant for medical records revealed that Dresel's blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, said police. Dresel surrendered after learning a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

She posted a $50 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, March 11.
