A woman reported last week that she fell victim to a Craigslist scam, police said.

The woman told police Oct. 22 that she was in contact with a woman named "Hannah Palma" who was interested in buying her couch for $300, police said.

Palma sent a cashier's check for $900 and told the woman to keep $330 of it and use the difference to pay a mover through a wire transfer, police said.

However, the woman's bank told her the check was invalid after she had wired the funds for the mover, police said.

The return address of the cashier's check was in Honolulu, Hawaii, but the cell phone number Palma was uisng had a Dallas, Texas address, police said.
