Members of the Darien Monuments and Ceremonies Commission and Post 6933 Veterans of Foreign Wars hosted a wreath-laying ceremony at Spring Grove Cemetery Saturday, Dec. 14.

The ceremony was part of Wreaths Across America, which honors American heroes.

Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

On National Wreaths Across America Day, remembrance wreaths were placed at the headstones of fallen veterans at more than 800 locations across the country and overseas.
