On Saturday, May 18, the Darien YMCA hosted an evening reception to say thank you to its donors and unveiled its lighted donor wall of major givers.

Close to 100 donors attended the festivities. Most of the individuals had made donations to the Y's Capital Campaign, which funded the renovation of the facility that was completed in autumn 2012.

David Genovese, chairman of major gifts of the Capital Campaign Committee, thanked donors and related stories about the building process and the support the Y received from the community and donors.

Another highlight of the evening was the rededication of Darien Y's special needs locker room in honor of John David Lambert, who suffered from muscular dystrophy and was confined to a wheelchair from the age of 10. The special needs locker room rededication was donated by the Roxe Foundation.

New members to the Darien Y board of directors include Kesti Aysseh, Stacia Branca, Jamie Roach Murray and Lauren Spataro.
