The YWCA Darien/Norwalk has been given $30,000 from William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage, and Insurance for the organization's fundraising events.
The presentation was made by Bill Raveis, chairman of the company, and Deirdre McGovern, director of business development and an agent in the Raveis Darien office, to YWCA Executive Director Ellen Kirby.
The YWCA events include the Newcomers Fall Party on Saturday, Sept. 29; Cookies, Cocktails and a Cause on Thursday, Dec. 6; annual Dinner Dance Benefit in spring; YW Race on April 28; fourth annual Women of Distinction Luncheon on May 16; and the ninth annual Push N Pull Parade on July 4.
Raveis' local offices embrace causes through volunteering and/or donations. Many of the Raveis employees in Darien have ties to the YWCA, having served on the board of directors or been members of the Newcomers Club.
"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the YWCA Darien/Norwalk to help women and girls in our community," said Raveis.
Kirby said she was appreciative of the company's support and commitment to the programs at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk.
