Officers responding to multiple reports of gunshots found a man dead near Ojeda Park on San Antonio's West Side Thursday morning.

Homicide investigators were called to the area of Trinity and Rivas streets after officers found the man, in his late 20s or early 30s, in the grassy area near the street, Police Chief William McManus said.

Investigators haven't determined a motive for the shooting but McManus said it was not random, citing the multiple casings found on the street which indicate the man was targeted.

Witnesses told police a green pickup fled north after the shooting, McManus said.

Police have received several calls about homeless people staying under the bridge near the intersection but it's unclear whether the victim was homeless, McManus said.
